We continue with the topic: the basics of faith.
Here is part one:

5 – The Name of Christ
We have a commandment to believe in the correct name of Christ:
„And this is His commandment: that we believe in the name of His Son, Yeshu Christ, and love one another as He commanded us.” – 1 John 3:23
„And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” – John 14:13-15
This is how the name of Christ is written in Greek:
„And the angel said to her: Do not be afraid, Mariam, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Yesu-n.” – Luke 1:31
In the name of Christ we have salvation, eternal life:
„And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name (singular form) under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
„But these are written so that you may believe that Yeshu is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” – John 20:31
The Scriptures inform us that salvation, eternal life, is in the Figure/Character of Christ, in His teachings, but also in the correct name given by God the Father.
Is the Name of Christ important?
The name Christ was given by God. Therefore, let us not change the correct name, because then we may show contempt for God the Father:
„Therefore God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Yeshu every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Yeshu Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:9-11
„But to all who did receive Him, He gave the power to become children of God—to those who believe in His name.” – John 1:12
„And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.” – John 14:13-14
When was the name „Iesu” replaced by „Jesus„?
„This change most likely occurred in the Middle Ages or early Renaissance (around the 15th–16th centuries), when:
• biblical names began to be Polonized/Americanized from Latin,
• the letter „J” gained its current sound
• and the ending „-esu” was changed to „-esus” – source: Internet.
„The Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus, established in 1721, was included in the new Roman calendar as a commemoration on January 3. The Franciscan order contributed to the spread of the cult of the Name of Jesus in the 15th century, and Pope Innocent XIII extended the feast to the universal Church in the 18th century”
Checkmate for the name – jesus
The name jesus was not known to the apostles. This name was created in subsequent centuries and the translators of a given religion entered it into Biblical translations. This is checkmate for the followers of jesus, because we have to fight for the faith once delivered to the saints, and the apostles did not know this name ‘jesus’:
„Beloved! While making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to urge you to contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” – Jude 1:3
„And the God who is the source of patience and comfort grant you to be of the same mind with one another, according to Christ Yeshu, so that with one accord and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshu Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us, to the glory of God.” – Romans 15:5-7
What is a checkmate?
Christ passed on the teachings, principles of faith, laws to the apostles, as the Scripture informs us: „the faith once for all delivered to the saints.” After the death of the apostles, no one has the right to change these teachings or commandments, nor can they add anything to them.
Jude 1:3 informs us that the principles of faith were once for all passed on to the apostles. From this it follows that the name of Christ was also passed on to the apostles. So we do not have the name „jesus” in the New Testament, in the Greek language. Since this name was created in the following centuries after the death of the apostles, it means that Christ was NOT called – jesus. No one at that time knew any jesus.
6 – How to check the correct name of Christ?
Since, as the Scripture informs us, in the name of Christ there is salvation, eternal life, forgiveness of sins, then checking the correct name should be quick and easy. Even a small child who can read and write should be able do it themselves.
Is this really so? Let’s check.
What should be done?
Step 1 – believe that Christ, as well as His name, is important. The name is part of the Figure of Christ. It was given by God the Father.
For this, we need the gift of faith:
„For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.” – 1 Corinthians 12:8-10
„For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God.” – Ephesians 2:8
„For by the grace given to me, I say to every one of you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith that God has assigned to each.” – Romans 12:3
It turns out that the gift of faith is given by the Holy Spirit. Whether you believe in Christ, in His correct name, depends on the Holy Spirit. It is He who gives the gift of faith.
Step 2 – check the name in the Scriptures:

Above I took a photo from the interlinear translation on Biblehub.com. This is a so-called interlinear translation, where there is Greek, in which as the last language, God wrote the name of Christ, and underneath is English. It is not known why the name Yeshu/Yesu Catholics translated to: „Jesus”. The apostles did not know such a name. The name „Jesus” was created centuries after the apostles. You can check it here. Interlinear Bibles are paid and free. Here is a free one:
