„Boiling the Frog”: Check If You’re Being Manipulated

Humanity has been deceived for centuries. The techniques for spreading falsehoods vary, but one of the most ruthless is artificially inducing fear, panic, and chaos. A glimpse of this technique was evident during the PLANdemic.

Techniques of Deception

There are various methods of deception, including:

  • Spreading false information: Sharing fake data, sensational „revelations,” or unverified rumors as if they were credible news.
  • Half-truths: Selectively presenting facts while omitting inconvenient details to create a persuasive but incomplete narrative.
  • Cherry-picking statistics: Highlighting only data that supports false claims while ignoring evidence that contradicts the narrative.
  • Lack of context: Presenting information in isolation, leading to misunderstandings about the actual scope of an issue.
  • Repetition of slogans: Using short, memorable phrases instead of explaining complex matters.
  • Coordinated messaging: Unified communication from politicians and media to ensure everyone says the same thing simultaneously.
  • Relativism: Suggesting that since the opponent also has faults, current actions should not be criticized.
  • Discrediting opponents: Attacking the credibility of an adversary by pointing out their past, private life, or alleged connections instead of addressing their arguments.
  • Distracting from the core issue: Shifting focus to a person’s characteristics (real or alleged flaws or past mistakes) to obscure the substance of the debate.
  • Exploiting national and religious symbols: Emphasizing unity, patriotism, or the moral superiority of one’s side.

These and countless other techniques are used by those who specialize in manipulation. They deliberately choose methods that deceive individuals or groups.

One of the most popular and continuously employed techniques is „boiling the frog.” This method is highly effective, and humanity repeatedly falls for it.

What Does „Boiling the Frog” Mean?

The „boiling the frog” method is a metaphor for how people (or societies) can become indifferent to escalating, harmful changes if these changes are introduced gradually and imperceptibly. The term refers to an experiment where a frog thrown into boiling water immediately tries to escape, but if placed in cool water that is slowly heated, it doesn’t notice the danger and eventually perishes.

The goal of this technique is to alter someone’s way of thinking, envelop them in lies, and strip them of free will.

„Boiling the frog” involves acclimating people to changes that occur in small, nearly imperceptible steps. Whether in the workplace, social life, or faith, when unfavorable conditions are introduced slowly, people fail to notice the deceit.

For example, if a company gradually increases employees’ workloads without raising pay or support, workers may accept each new task because no single increase feels overwhelming. Only over time do they realize they are overworked or burned out.

Governments and global organizations often use this method, introducing harmful laws, taxes, or policies slowly. Typically, this is combined with another technique: „two steps forward, one step back.” Harmful changes are introduced, which alert vigilant individuals. Thanks to the internet, such issues quickly gain public awareness. The government then appears to backtrack—but only partially. While people believe they’ve forced a retraction, the overall plan progresses step by step.

Today, we see these techniques in action with the implementation of agendas like the green deal, digital currency, or social credit systems (e.g., in China).

„Boiling the Frog” in Religion

Religion should be based on faith that was once and for all delivered to the saints:

„Beloved, while I was making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you, appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all handed down to the saints – Jude 1:3 .

The foundation of any true faith is the teachings of Christ passed down to the apostles.

If priests or leaders abruptly introduce new teachings, doctrines, or lies, it may cause shock. However, if they do so slowly, using the „two steps forward, one step back” technique, followers may gradually comply—even if the changes are based on falsehoods.

Consider how doctrines like the Trinity, the name „jesus,” or the „mother of God” were introduced into the Catholic Church. There were individuals, even clergy, who opposed these ideas. Today, these teachings are firmly entrenched Catholic doctrines. They are based on tradition because they cannot be justified by the teachings of Christ.

Currently, similar techniques are being used to normalize acceptance of homosexuality.

How is this justified?

Primarily by appealing to love for others. The concept of love, forgiveness, and justice exists in every religion.

Why?

Because it serves as bait. Teaching about love and kindness helps validate a religion or an online prophet.

What does God say about this?

„Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” – 1 John 4:1.

This guidance, this command to test the spirits, is the best method to recognize deceivers. Anyone can speak about love. Those with talent can do so in a beautiful way. However, we must not be like the proverbial frog boiled in water. We do not simply listen to these beautiful words and applaud in admiration; instead, we examine: who is this person, what are their religious views, what doctrines do they follow, and which gods do they serve?

What Does It Mean to Test the Spirits?

Every person who is a religious teacher or an internet prophet is led by some spirit. This is why the Bible says, „test the spirits.”

We check whether the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, has placed His seal on this person. Since they are a teacher of the teachings of Christ, they must have studied the Scriptures for many months or years. Such a person has examined all topics and holds an opinion on every doctrine of faith. If they are led by the Holy Spirit, this will be evident when we verify them.

If they are led by another spirit, they will not be able to understand the truth or the true teachings of Christ, because that spirit will prevent them. As a result, they will use a false name for Christ or believe in unbiblical teachings.

And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Yeshu Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us” – 1 John 3:23.
„Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the Name of God’s One and Only Son” – John 3:18.

An Important Note to Consider…

If we consume content from people who spread false teachings, we ourselves will fall—both spiritually and physically.

How Does This Happen?

Initially, we may be captivated by beautiful lectures about love, kindness, justice, or beautifully performed religious songs. The next step is that we listen to more lectures. In those, the teacher shares their religious beliefs, which are often contrary to the teachings of Christ. They have likely received many opportunities from God to examine biblical truth but remain stubborn.

By being „boiled in water,” we end up accepting these false teachings. We spread them, and as a result, we fall spiritually.

This scenario is consistently observable.
Please examine whether this is the case in your life, dear reader. If, on top of this, we promote such a teacher, we contribute to the downfall of others. This falls under a severe law: the sin against the Holy Spirit.

„Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander (987) they utter, but whoever blasphemes (987) against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin” – Mark 3:28-29.

Before we listen to these beautiful lectures about love or these moving songs, let us „test the spirits.” Let us not deceive ourselves with false views, thinking that if someone speaks about love, they must surely represent the true God.

„Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” – 1 John 3:18.
