Financiers sponsor numerous studies on longevity. They enjoy a life of luxury. The power they wield leads to temporary impunity. That’s why they spend billions on research, substances, and scientists. They want to live forever. However, this path leads to destruction. Only God can guarantee longevity, no one else.
This money will do them no good…
God promises a life without death in a beautiful place and in complete happiness. This promise is addressed to every person. You can’t buy longevity. You can’t buy happiness, not even health. You can earn all of this by honing your character, your faith, and your hard work.
Each of us can take advantage of this wonderful and free offer God offers.
The condition is to pursue Biblical truth and persevere in that truth.
In the parable of the sower, Christ gives us important information. He teaches us how not to fall from faith, what to do to live beautifully and achieve the reward of salvation.
Let’s examine these verses.
Sown by the road
“Everyone who hears/knows the word/teaching about the Kingdom but does not understand/does not grasp/does not understand (the teaching), then the evil one/adversary/satan comes and snatches/uproots/steals/takes away what was sown/planted in his heart/inside/mind. This is the person whose seed was sown by the wayside/near the wayside” – Matthew 13:19.
“And those by the wayside are they that hear: then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.”—Luke 8:12.
How can we discuss the people in this verse in more detail?
They learned true faith; someone preached to them teachings about the Kingdom of God, about eternal life, about prosperity, about the place where people will live in the future under the rule of Christ, about the true name of Yeshu.
They listened, nodded, and something sunk in. However, they didn’t understand, or perhaps they didn’t want to understand; it was too fictitious a vision of the future life for them. Satan came and took away what had been given to them. These people proved to be very spiritually weak. They don’t attach importance to faith in God. Only this life matters to them. That’s why satan so easily replaced this Biblical knowledge with something else:
“Go to this people and say, ‘You will hear, but you will not understand; and you will see, but you will not perceive.’ For this people’s heart has become hardened, and their ears are heavy with hearing, and they have closed their eyes, so that they may not see, and hear, and understand with their heart.” – Acts 28:26–27.
“And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that they may not see the light of the glorious ospel of Christ, who is the image of God.” – 2 Corinthians 4:3–4.
Sown on a rock
“What was sown on rocky ground, (meaning a person) hears the word/teaching and immediately receives it with joy/enthusiasm/satisfaction. But it has no root/steadfastness in itself—it is unstable/flitting/its faith is shallow. As soon as tribulation/test/difficulty or persecution arises because of the word/teaching, it immediately falls/falls away/resigns” – Matthew 13:20-21.
In these verses, we have a description of people learning about the next life, about the Kingdom of God, about the lies of many religions, and about the true name of Christ.
And what do they do?
They rejoice, rejoice, and gladly accept these teachings, this knowledge. They have been given the gift of faith, the gift of understanding the truth. And this gives them immense joy. They are proud that they were able to know the truth.
Then they share this knowledge, this teaching, with family and friends. And this is where serious problems begin. Family and friends don’t understand the truth, they haven’t received the gift of faith, they are closed-minded, they are „blinded by satan.” Criticism, arguments, and perhaps even eviction from home for changing their faith begin. In such a situation, these newly acquainted with biblical truth… give up on it. They don’t want to fight, they are quickly intimidated, their faith is shallow, they fall. They return to old lies, to old traditions, and they bind themselves to satan. They do this to have peace, to avoid arguments…
But this peace is temporary. Putting on satan’s shackles is submitting to his will, it’s rejecting God. Such a person cannot be happy.
„Let him ask in faith, with no doubting; for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind, tossed and tossed. Let not such a person suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is double-minded, unstable in all his ways.” – James 1:6–8
Sown among the weeds
„The seed that fell among the thorns/weeds represents those who hear/accept/understand the Word, but as they go through life/over time, they become choked/suppressed/smothered by:
– worries/worries/anxieties/daily problems,
– riches/the desire for possessions/the pursuit of money,
– pleasures/pleasures/comforts of life.
And therefore they bear no fruit/do not ripen/do not yield a harvest” – Luke 8:14.
Here we have people who have learned Biblical truth, understand God’s Word, received the gift of faith, and were even able to immerse themselves in the true name of Christ and serve the true God for years. But they let their guard down…
Perhaps pride has crept in and they feel too powerful, too important. In any case, they have ignored Christ’s counsel, lost self-control, and succumbed to Satan’s traps.
Some have succumbed to stress, fear, and an inability to solve problems. Others are focused on their careers, working long hours, paying high loan installments, planning ever-increasing expenses, buying gadgets, and expensive indulgences.
All of this leads to a drift away from God. They no longer think about the beautiful and wise Bible verses, forget about Christ’s important teachings, stray from God’s commandments, and fail to attend Bible meetings that give strength and correction…
As a result, they do not bear fruit, they do not produce any harvest… Their salvation hangs by a thread… They must quickly return to their old habits from the beginning of learning about the Biblical truth.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its lust, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” – 1 John 2:15–17
“But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful desires which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.” – 1 Timothy 6:9–10
Sown on good soil
“And the seed that fell on good/fertile/fertile soil represents those who have a good/sincere/open/pure heart, and a noble/righteous/honest/simple heart,
who hear/accept/listen attentively to the Word, retain/keep/cherish it in themselves, and bear fruit/bear a harvest with perseverance/patience/consistency” – Luke 8:15.
And this is an example of the kind of people we should imitate. They persevere in true faith. They are vigilant, not yielding to false internet prophets. They
uphold the teachings of Christ and uphold the true name of Christ, as called upon to „contend for the faith once delivered to the saints” – Jude 1:3.
Money, wealth, and materialism are not important to them. They demonstrate a high level of faith and are spiritually mature. They have the ability to recognize traps and the workings of satan, which is why they are so difficult to deceive, seduce, or deceive.
They love God, love people, and love the truth…
„But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and everything he does prospers.” – Psalm 1:2-3.
„You need perseverance, so that when you do the will of God, you will receive what was promised.” – Hebrews 10:36.
